Hello everyone! It's so long since my last post. Last month was crazy for me, went to fast I cannot believe it yet. I've moved to Israel, TLV :) so there was no time to write between the moving and farewells. As soon as I got here its been all about eating because of the holidays and keep 'em coming. There was Jewish New Year and Yom Kippur and Sukkot is just around the corner.
For Yom Kippur, before beginning the "fasting" dinner is made late in the afternoon to prepare your body. Asaf decided to be the master chef for this holiday and made one of his family's signature dish "Chicken with String Beans". It's Been around the family through generations, he cooked it for the first time. I made a simple chicken soup with vegetables as an entree. Enjoy :)
ingredients:
1 whole chicken chopped
10 garlic cloves halved.
turmeric
salt
pepper
olive oil
1 lb. of string beans
water
In a pot, pour a bit of olive oil and garlic. Now put the chicken pieces and season them with turmeric, salt and pepper. On top of the chicken place the string beans and season again with salt and pepper. Pour a bit of water (like half a glass) and cover the pot. Cook for around 1 hour in low-medium fire and check the water, if it evaporated then add a bit.
Serve! Pour over the string beans lemon juice to add more taste.
Place string beans on top of chicken, in this way they won't get soggy.
Healthy and yummy
Ready for early dinner!
